The member companies of the Swiss National Bureau of Insurance (NBI) and the Swiss National Guarantee Fund (NGF)

The insurance undertakings active in the motor third party liability insurance branch constitue and administrate together the National Bureau of Insurance and the National Guarantee Fund, which both have their own legal personality (art. 74 par. 1 and 76 par. 1 SVG).

The affiliation to the NBI and the NGF is a precondition to obtain the autorisation to carry out the motor third party liability insurance business from the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority FINMA (art. 13 of the insurance supervision act VAG).
