International Guarantee Funds Agreement (Zurich II Agreement)

In collaboration with the Comité Européen des Assurances (CEA) and the Swiss Federal authorities, the NGF has concluded an agreement with the guarantee funds of the EEA member states and Croatia to guarantee a better protection of road traffic victims within the European Economic Area and Switzerland, the so-called “Zurich Guarantee Fund Agreement”. According to this Agreement, the same rules apply to nationals and/or residents of Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein who are victims of an accident with an unknown or uninsured motor vehicle in any EEA member state and Croatia as would apply to victims residing in the state in question. Nationals and/or residents of EEA states and Croatia have the same right to claim against the Swiss NGF, on the basis of the Agreement, as Swiss nationals and/or residents do.

The agreement is applicable to the following countries:

A, B, BG, CY, CZ, D, DK, E, EST, F, FIN, GB, GR, H, HR, I, IRL, IS, L, LT, LV, M, N, NL, P, PL, RO, S, SK, SLO
